Can eMarketInsight change anything in my Etsy shop?
No. You connect with Etsy's official sign-in and give read-only access. eMarketInsight can read your listings to back them up, but it cannot change, edit or delete anything in your shop.
What exactly is saved?
Every listing in every state: active, inactive, draft, expired and sold out. For each one: the title, description, price, quantity, all 13 tags, materials, SKUs, variations with each option's own price and quantity, shop section, category, who made it and when, processing time, shipping profile, personalization settings, the photos with their alt text, the listing link and its dates.
How often does it back up?
Automatically every week. You can also press Back up now on the Backups tab in My shop for an extra backup, once an hour.
What happens to my photos, and how many backups are kept?
On the Free plan a backup keeps the listing data with links to your photos on Etsy, and the last 4 backups are kept. On paid plans, from $9 a month, the original full-size photos are also copied to eMarketInsight's storage, so they stay available even if they disappear from Etsy, and the last 12 backups are kept. For a large shop, the photos are copied in the background over several runs.
How do I open a backup?
Download it as CSV, which opens in Excel or Google Sheets, or as JSON with the complete data. What changed compares each backup with the one before it and lists new listings, removed listings and edits to titles, tags, descriptions, prices, quantities and photos.
Does backing up use credits or daily lookups?
No. Backups use no credits and do not count toward your daily Etsy lookups, on any plan. You can connect 3 shops on Free, 5 on Starter, 10 on Pro and 25 on Business.
