Offsite ads fee
Charged only when the sale came through an Etsy ad on another site. 12% is the rate for shops past $10,000 in sales over the last 12 months.
Currency conversionApplies when your listing currency differs from your payout (bank) currency.
Etsy bills the listing fee in US dollars and caps the offsite ads fee at US$100. The rate filled in is approximate: type today’s for exact cents.
Every Etsy sale is split several ways before the payout reaches your bank. This Etsy fees calculator takes the price you charge, the shipping you collect and what the item costs you to make, then breaks the sale into each fee Etsy charges and the amount left over. It is built for sellers who want a straight answer to how much does Etsy take per sale before they set a price, run a discount or opt into ads.
The fees it covers
Listing fee: $0.20 per listing. It renews every four months, or after the item sells.
Transaction fee: 6.5% of the item price plus shipping and gift wrap.
Payment processing: 3% + $0.25 per order for shops in the US. Rates in other countries differ, so pick your seller country.
Offsite ads: 15% of an order that came through an Etsy ad shown on another website, or 12% for shops with more than $10,000 in sales over the past 12 months, for whom the program is mandatory. The fee is capped at $100 per order.
Currency conversion: 2.5% when your listing currency is not the same as your payout currency.
A worked example
Take a US shop selling a $24 item with free shipping. The listing fee is $0.20, the transaction fee is $1.56 (6.5% of $24) and payment processing is $0.97 (3% of $24 plus $0.25). That adds up to $2.73 in fees, so $21.27 of the $24 reaches the seller before materials, packaging and postage are paid. If the same order arrived through an offsite ad at the 15% rate, another $3.60 would come off. These numbers only illustrate the method; your own inputs drive the result.
Why seeing every line matters
Plenty of sellers price by adding a markup to their costs and only notice the fees when a payout looks thin. Etsy fees grow with the price, and the transaction fee also applies to any shipping you charge, so a free-shipping listing and a charged-shipping listing at the same total cost about the same in fees. Seeing each line lets you decide whether to raise a price, fold shipping into it, or skip a discount that would push your margin below zero. It doubles as an Etsy profit calculator: enter your item cost and it returns net profit and margin using the rates listed above, the same ones you will find quoted as the Etsy fee calculator 2026 figures.
The tool runs in your browser, costs nothing and needs no account.
How to read the results
Enter the item price and any shipping you charge, set the quantity, and choose your seller country so the right processing rate is applied. Switch on offsite ads to see what an ad-attributed order would cost, and add the currency conversion fee if you list in one currency and get paid in another. Fill in your item cost (materials, production, packaging) to unlock the profit lines.
Fee lines: each Etsy charge appears on its own row, so you can see which one is largest. On mid-priced items the transaction fee usually leads; on very cheap items the fixed $0.25 processing charge and the $0.20 listing fee weigh far more.
Total fees: the sum of every line. In the $24 example above it is $2.73, a little over 11% of the sale.
Net: what remains after fees and your item cost. This is the money that pays for your time.
Margin: net as a share of the order total. If it drops sharply when you switch on offsite ads, the price has little room to spare.
When the margin looks too thin, raise the price in small steps and watch the net, or move part of the shipping cost into the item price. Run the numbers again before every sale event, because a percentage discount cuts your net much faster than it cuts the fees.
Frequently asked questions
How much does Etsy take per sale?
For a US shop, Etsy charges a $0.20 listing fee, a 6.5% transaction fee on the item price plus shipping and gift wrap, and 3% + $0.25 for payment processing. On a $24 item with free shipping that comes to $2.73.
What are the Etsy fees in 2026?
This calculator uses a $0.20 listing fee, a 6.5% transaction fee, 3% + $0.25 US payment processing, offsite ads at 15% or 12% capped at $100 per order, and 2.5% currency conversion. Sellers outside the US should pick their country, since processing rates differ.
Does Etsy charge fees on shipping?
Yes. The 6.5% transaction fee applies to the shipping you charge and to gift wrap, not only to the item price. Offering free shipping does not avoid it if you raise the item price to cover postage.
What is the Etsy offsite ads fee?
When a sale comes from an Etsy ad shown on another website, Etsy charges 15% of that order, or 12% if your shop made more than $10,000 in the past 12 months. Shops above that line cannot opt out, and the fee never exceeds $100 per order.
When does the currency conversion fee apply?
Etsy charges 2.5% when the currency you list in differs from the currency of your payment account. Listing in your payout currency avoids it.
Is this Etsy fee calculator free?
Yes. It runs in your browser, needs no account and has no daily limit. Nothing you type is sent to a server.
